John M. Phillips founded BTSA and wants to be YOUR advocate. John is originally from Mobile, Alabama. It is where he was born, went to high school and where his parents still reside. John has lived in Arizona, Kansas, Louisiana, South Carolina, Mississippi, elsewhere in Alabama, but calls Florida home. John was named a Bedsole Scholar and attended the University of Alabama on full scholarship. There, he received a Bachelors Degree and a Juris Doctorate (Law Degree), was a Senior Editor of the Law & Psychology Law Review, involved with the Student Government Association and undertook many other activities. He also volunteered at an alternative school, working with kids who were born to dire circumstances. After graduation from law school, John accepted a judicial clerkship in Mobile before moving to Jacksonville, Florida, where he has resided for over a decade. For over a decade, John has worked hard establishing himself as a top attorney. John is licensed to practice law in Florida, Georgia and Alabama, as well as in many Federal Courts. He is a licensed agent in many more states. He became a named member of the firm of Dore, Lanier & Phillips at age 32 and left Dore & Phillips at age 35 to pursue BTSA and join forces with one of the Southeast's largest advocacy firms. He left there to start his own firm and represent a broad base of clients. As a lawyer, John has been recognized as a leader in the industry and accomplished attorney by several regional and national entities and publications. His peers have rewarded him with some of the top ratings his profession offers. He has been the #1 or #2 searched/viewed attorney in his home of Jacksonville for several consecutive months and in the top 10 out of well over 1.3 Million attorneys nationwide by Martindale/Lexis-Nexis. The same entity rates him AV, Preeminent, the highest rating they offer. He was named as a Super Lawyer / Rising Star two years in a row. No more than 2.5 percent of the lawyers in the State are named to this list. He is also rated a perfect 10/10 by avvo.com, is on several Who's Who lists and has been asked to join several "invitation only" legal societies, such as the Inns of Court, of which he is an alumni. He will soon seek Board Certification as a Trial Lawyer. Finally, John has the honor of serving on and being a Co-Director and/or General Counsel of several non-profit organizations. John regularly appears as a special guest on radio shows and shares his knowledge and passion all over the country. He has done well over 100 interviews just in the last year.
