SODIS Foundation

The SODIS Foundation was created in Cochabamba, Bolivia. In 2000, SODIS introduced an innovative solar disinfection system to improve health conditions to help poor families who do not have access to drinking water in rural areas and outskirts of cities. In the last ten years, through its hard work and support for public health, SODIS has become the specialists in Water, Sanitation and Hygiene, also known as WASH. We develop our activities based on social commitment - local, innovations, working geographically close to the people and working with scientific methods and technologies that we ensure become appropriate and locally owned. The importance of this issue has generated the demand for action in other countries like Guatemala, El Salvador, Honduras, Nicaragua, Ecuador and Peru putting SODIS into the international scene.
