Furia
Furia and Turner is a Philadelphia-based law firm with nearly 80 years of history. The firm was founded in 1930 by Edward W. Furia, Sr., Esquire, as a place for local residents to receive trustworthy, friendly and understanding counsel. The firm still maintains this reputation today. In 1971, Edward's son Richard was admitted to the Pennsylvania Bar and immediately took over his father's practice. In 1983, James (Jim) M. Turner, Jr., Esquire, joined the practice and in 1991 the firm became Furia and Turner. Over the years the firm has had the priviledge of representing all types of clients, from injured clients to clients who needed help with their own personal matters to insurance companies and self-insured companies. Some of the Companies the firm has represented over the years include The Coca-Cola Company and Wheaton Industries. This wide variety of representation has earned the firm, in Philadelphia and surrounding counties, a representation of knowing our way around a courtroom, as well as a settlement table. This type of reputation or "brand" can only be accomplished by years and years of hard work for our clients while at the same time always striving to secure the outcome desired by our clients. Our firm believes in something that sometimes gets lost in the practice of law, that is, we work for our clients. The Law Firm of Furia and Turner handles personal injury, medical malpractice, and products liability matters, including uninsured/underinsured motorist arbitration in the five-county area in Pennsylvania. The attorneys also handle workers' compensation, real estate and estates, wills and trusts matters. The law firm carries the distinction of being counsel on the landmark case Brennan vs. General Accident, which established the limited scope of Appellate Review in Common Law Arbitration of Uninsured and Underinsured Motorist Claims. The Firm is listed in the Martindale-Hubbell Bar Register of Preeminent Lawyers in the practice areas of probate, civil trial, real estate, personal injury, products liability, workers' compensation and medical malpractice.
