FUSO CHEMICAL CO., LTD. is a Japan-based company mainly engaged in the life science business and the electronic material business. The Life Science segment manufactures and sells fruit acids, such as apple acids and citric acids; applied development products, such as quality improvers for noodle products, preservation for processed foods and laver cultivation, and gluconic acid, such as coagulant, acidulant and pH adjuster used in processing bean curd. The Electronic Material and Functional Chemical segment provides electronic materials, including high-purity spherical silica; resin additives, including plastic, paint additives and isobutylene derivatives, and fine chemicals. The Company has five subsidiaries and one associated company. As of July 31, 2008, the Company has fully acquired a subsidiary of Yamano Holdings Corporation.
