The Spanish Technological Platform of Smart Grids (FutuRed) was created in 2005 with the aim of integrating all agents involved in electric grid management (distributors, carriers, industrial firms, technological centres and Government organisms) in order to define and promote national strategies that would enable the consolidation of a much more advanced grid, able to respond to the challenges of the future.
