We aim to deliver an effective, military-style roleplay without the confines of protocol that would ultimately dissipate personal character. The Vanguard has more akin to a mercernary band if such things existed amongst the Daevas than it does to your typical, ordered troops. The Daevas of the Sanctum frown upon the Vanguard's existence, often accusing the legion of warmongering and comparing them to the likes of Lord Azphel and those who would in the end become the Asmodians. But not all Daevas share these views and there are those amongst the Sanctum's leadership who have faith in Deveran's renewed will and in his quest for redemption. They see the Vanguard's potential. They see their genuine devotion to the Elyos. Let the Sunborne Vanguard be home to those who strive for the survival of the Elyos, but cannot find a home amongst the idealistic legions of the Sanctum. Let it be home to those brave men and women who will form the front line against the devilish Balaur and the shadow-spawned Asmodians.
