Georgia Nephrology
We are committed to delivering exemplary customer service to our patients and clients. We go above and beyond to respond to the needs of each patient and family. Georgia Nephrology Is: The largest nephrology practice in the state of Georgia, currently comprising fourteen Nephrologists and seven Nurse Practitioners. We currently have 8 office locations and manage 19 dialysis centers around Metro Atlanta to serve the needs of our community. The practice was started in the mid-1970s in Decatur by Dr. Barry Rosenbaum as Nephrology Consultants. In 1983, Dr. Zeev Sharon joined him, and the practice became Rosenbaum & Sharon Nephrology Consultants. With the addition of Dr. Karen Muro in 1993, the practice was renamed Atlanta Nephrology Referral Center (ANRC). The practice grew and thrived over the ensuing 20 years, adding providers and expanding its practice locations to include Conyers, Covington, Lithonia, Snellville, and Lawrenceville. In 2014, ANRC joined forces with Georgia Quality Kidney Care, a three physician practice with offices in Lawrenceville, Buford, and Johns Creek. The combined practice became Georgia Nephrology as it exists today. The activities of Georgia Nephrology are dedicated to the diagnosis, treatment, rehabilitation, and chronic care of patients with kidney disease. The range of clinical practice of the group include hospital consultations and management, office consultations and follow up, chronic kidney disease (CKD) management in cooperation with PCP's and other specialists as indicated. In addition, we offer education, planning, and management of renal replacement therapies, including peritoneal dialysis, in-center hemodialysis (including working shift and nocturnal hemodialysis), home hemodialysis. We work closely with local transplantation programs at Emory and Piedmont. Cooperation and sharing of information with PCP and other consultants is emphasized in order to optimize patient outcomes. CKD management and management of its complications is emphasized with the main goals being slowing progression, protecting the cardiovascular system, treating complications, providing education, and planning for replacement therapy, as needed. Georgia Nephrology physicians manage state of the art dialysis facilities through both DaVita and Fresenius, with a total of nineteen (19) outpatient dialysis units. Several of our locations offer peritoneal and home hemodialysis options as well as working shift or nocturnal dialysis programs. Our education program specializes in guiding modality selection, and our providers work with each patient to ensure appropriate placement and care is provided. Georgia Nephrology is affiliated with Rockdale Medical Center, Gwinnett Hospital System, DeKalb Medical System, Eastside Medical Center, Emory Johns Creek Hospital, and Newton Medical Center. Our providers are active in committee service and continue to serve in leadership roles at many of these hospitals.
