GSI is a full service Geotechnical Engineering firm established in January 2011 and based in Fairfax County, Virginia. GSI was established in the interest of providing quality professional services to the construction and development community. Our two main principals have over 50 years of combined experience in the geotechnical, environmental, testing and inspection field. Our staff of over 45 professionals is comprised of registered professional engineers, project engineers and certified field technicians/inspectors. Our engineers are licensed in Virginia, Maryland and the District of Columbia. Our technicians/inspectors are fully certified in their respective fields by VDOT, NICET, ACI and WACEL. Our staff has extensive experience in the varied soil types encountered in the Washington Metropolitan area and we use this experience to help our clients avoid costly mistakes and lower their risks. Our staff is recognized as the go to engineers to provide solutions to difficult soil problems. Our engineers have utilized soil stabilization techniques by the use of chemical and mechanical methods. GSI engineers have recommended and designed numerous cut-off walls to resolve difficult slope instability issues. Our Laboratories have been accredited by AMRL, CCRL, WACEL and inspected by US Army Corps of Engineers.
