Gibbys Electronic Supermarket has been serving the Niagara Peninsula's home and car electronics needs since 1966. Gibbys started out in 1966 selling and servicing tvs and selling and installing tv antennas and towers at he beginning of the "TV Revolution" and the introduction of color tv. Originally called Pelham Electronics, the company was started by Merv Gibson and his brother Bev Gibson. Bev moved on to other occupations and Merv retired in 2003. Duane Gibson started working in the company in the late 1970s and early 1980s. During the 1980s and early 1990s the company was called Video World due to the introduction of the VCR and movie rentals. We had 2 locations in St Catharines originally on Pelham Rd then moving to Glenridge Ave and a second location at Lakeshore Road and Arthur St. that was open from around 1984 until the early 1990s. Gibbys moved to the corner of Church and Geneva St. when we purchased and renovated the old "BF Goodrich building in 1994. Gibbys product mix has continually evolved as the industry has changed over the years.
