The institute is affiliated to BPUT and has been approved by AICTE. GIFT is a ISO 9001:2008 certified institute. This engineering college is accredited by National Board of Accreditation (NBA),International Accreditation Organization (IAO), NAAC with 'A' Grade and also recognized and approved as a research center by Scientific & Industrial Research Organization (SIRO)' by Ministry of Science & Technology, Govt. of India. The institute was founded in 2007 by Balaram Panda Trust. The institute was awarded as the Most Promising Engineering College and Best Engineering College by Governor of Odisha. In 2012 GIFT Engineering college became a remote center to IIT Bombay and IIT Kharagpur for conducting ISTE workshops. The institute provides courses in B.Tech, M.Tech, MCA and MBA.GIFT Engineering college is recognized and accredited as a 'Scientific & Industrial Research Organization (SIRO)' by Ministry of Science & Technology, Govt. of India. he Research and Development wing of GIFT holds conferences and workshops. They also conduct research in software development and robotics. It is an Oracle training center and offers training in DB2, RAD, SAP, web development and Android development.GIFTIANS have developed two android apps "Gift Notice" and "Faculty CL". These useful Android apps bridges the communication between administration and the students. Our students team 'BITCODERS' won the first prize woth 1,00,000 in the grand finale of the SMART INDIA HACKATHON,2017,an initiative of AICTE under the aegis of the MINISTRY of HR Development. t was held at Girijananda Choudhary Institute of Management & Technology,Guwahati on april 1and 2,2017. Students also created history by winning the second and third prizes in the National Robotics Championship titled " ROBOFEAST 2K17" held at IIT ,Roorkee recently.Giftians mechanical dept 4th yr students won the 2nd prize for their project "Fuel Generation From Waste Plastic" demonstrated in the NATIONAL INNOVATIVE PROJECT FAIR (NIPF) at GITA , Bhubaneshwar. The college held many frequent seminars, Job Fairs and workshops organized by both external and internal for both the students and the teachers and the staff. These include Training Programmes like ISTE SSTP workshops where many faculty members from different colleges participated in the training programme. Regular sports events like " octathlon-2k17"are organised with great enthusiasm and zeal and passion . The college organised placement drive with 5000 students participating in it. The college organises fests and annual functions to bring out the talent in the students and the staff encouraging them to present their passion to the world providing open opportunity for them all with competiotions like Techfest, Robo War, Mini Malatia , Musical Nights.
