Giglets

Giglets is an online reading resource accessed by over 25,000 pupils every week. Giglets at its heart, is a library but with one key difference: Pupils are engaged in the story before they've even started to decode the text. Reading often starts with an illustration or an animation. Sound effects or music set the scene. Audio storytelling supports the pupil in understanding the text. Using the comprehensive collection of books and resources in the Giglets library, we'll show you how to secure the very best practice in reading. Interactive comprehension questions help pupils demonstrate what they understand, just as they do in national reading tests. Pupils explore creative activities that relate to the story. Question sets help develop higher order thinking. Giglets has also been commissioned by the Scottish Government to deliver the Gaelic Medium Education (GME) Scottish National Standardised Assessments (SNSA) for P1, P4, P7 and S3 from 2017 - 2020 with a possible two year extension.
