GKM Equestrian is a leading provider of equine services in Leeds, Alabama, and we take great pride in offering the best experience in every service, whether it is boarding, lessons, training, or camps. Our team is dedicated to serving the needs of our clients every day, both human and equine, and owner Kenan Ashurst has been riding and showing horses since the age of four, and began teaching riding in the 1980s. She has shown in national and international shows, and has experience in many disciplines, with most of her showing experience in the hunter ring, where she ranked in Georgia with the GHJA in the late 1970s. In the early 2000s she competed in the AQHA in the Hunter Under-Saddle Classes, winning in Novice Amateur, Amateur, and the Open divisions. She won High Point awards in the Hunter Under-Saddle events all over the Southeast. She has been head trainer at Buckhead Barn and Polo Club in Atlanta, Georgia before moving with her family to Alabama. She was the manager at Inanda Stables at Shoal Creek before purchasing her private facility in Leeds, Alabama. Kenan moved her lesson program called "Trot Your Horses" to the Leeds facility in November of 2015.
