Globalcycle
Global Cycle ("Globalcycle") is the only fully-permitted commercial and indusrial wastewater treatment plant in Massachusetts. Global Cycle operates a wastewater recycling plant pursuant to the Massachusetts Department of Environmental Protection Individual Reclaimed Water Discharge Permit No. 930-0, which authorizes Global Cycle to accept various non-RCRA/TSCA regulated industrial wastewaters from off-site sources (both in containers (e.g. drums/totes) and bulk) and recycle it into a reusable water source. Global Cycle can accept wastewaters in containers or in "bulk" and is currently permitted to recycle 50,000 gallons per day. Typical industrial wastewater sources include: • Installation of groundwater monitoring wells (commonly referred to as investigation derived wastewaters or IDW) or well purge water • Water used to clean equipment, trucks and buildings • Decontamination wastewaters • Cooling tower wastewaters/semi-solids • Groundwater from underground storage tank installations • Storm, surface and excavation wastewaters • Frac tank clean-outs • Storm water catch basin cleaning semi-solids • Wastewaters that only contain a sheen of oil • Aqueous based wastewaters • Groundwater from UST petroleum leaks (e.g. D018/benzene exempt) • Marina boat wash waters The treatment system consists of a number of storage tanks, pumps, controls, and treatment equipment (e.g. solids and organics removal and pH adjustment). The entire system is situated within a secondary containment system, inside our facility. The pre-qualification process is as follows: • Completion of the Global Cycle waste profile form • Provide the following analytical: pH, Total VOC (by method 8260), Total SVOC (by method 8270), total suspended solids, total dissolved solids and any other suspected RCRA contaminants (using generator knowledge) Water recycling provides enormous environmental benefits. Below are some of the benefits of the recycling of water: • Recycling wastewater can decrease the discharge of effluents that may damage and pollute the ecosystems and marine life in bodies of water. • Recycling significantly reduces the generator's liabilities under EPA CERCLA (Superfund).
