Gourmet Egypt

Gourmet was founded by Jalal Abu-Ghazaleh in 2006 as a small division of AM Foods, a company specializing in the distribution of high quality food ingredients to Egypt's 5 star hotels. Starting off with a short menu of eight frozen items, with only two employees taking orders on a mobile phone and a flyer distributed to friends and relatives, customers increased and a home delivery business of premium food ingredients was created. Later that year Gourmet Egypt was created as an independent company with a vision to be the leading supplier of high quality ingredients for consumers and deliver it with service second to none. Work quickly began on the first Gourmet outlet, which opened in 2008 and offered a wide variety of chilled Australian beef, premium seafood, cheese and deli from around the world, artisanal pasta from Italy along with an exciting collection of herbs, spices and condiments.
