Grandvalira

Grandvalira

Grandvalira is a resort located in Andorra which covers the skiable areas of two of Andorra's seven "parishes" (or provinces). It was founded back in 2003 when two of the Pyrenees' oldest resorts, Pas de la Casa-Grau Roig (founded in 1956) and Soldeu-El Tarter (founded in 1964), joined together. This fusion gave rise to the largest resort in the Pyrenees and one of the largest in Europe with 210 km of ski run spread over a total of 118 slopes of all different levels, and the creation of one single forfait to enjoy all of the skiable territory. Over its 10 years of history, Grandvalira has seen important investment (a total of over €1 bn) spent on increasing the amount of skiable kilometers, renovating and increasing the network of ski lifts (the resort is now capable of handling more than 100,000 skiers/hour, meaning that lines at the lifts are now a thing of the past), improving the network of snow cannons (meaning that over 65% of the entire territory can be covered in artificial snow if required) and on broadening the range of activities the resort has to offer making it the best place to enjoy après-ski. Its commitment to constant investment has been recognized by international bodies, and it has hosted such events as the 2012 Women's Skiing World Cup and the trials for the 2012 and 2013 Speed Skiing World Cup - placing Grandvalira firmly as one of the top resorts on an international scale. The tranquility of nature and the excitement of trying out something new and having fun go hand in hand at this innovative resort that has something to offer all its visitors. Grandvalira is the best place you can imagine, a paradise for ski in Andorra. Organise your snow holidays, weekends and breaks, and enjoy an unforgettable experience.
