Great Northern Moose Lodge
The Great Northern Moose Lodge was originally built to serve as a hunting and fishing lodge for the area, in the early 1950's. Today the building is the last structure along the Androscoggin River, on New Hampshire's Route 16 before entering the 13 Mile Woods Conservation Area. Located in the incorporated town of Dummer, New Hampshire, named after the former Massachusetts Bay Lieutenant Governor William Dummer. Also the name sake of Governor Dummer Academy, considered the first college preparatory school in America. With two stone fireplaces and log siding, the lodge offers a rustic presence, reminiscent of days gone by. The lodge offers a Bose sound system in each guest room to provide for a relaxing atmosphere within your room. Three of the guest rooms are provided with a private bath and queen bed, while two rooms share a common bath. A continental breakfast is provided each morning with your stay. Guests staying longer than a few days can ask for special access to the full kitchen. The Lodge is equipped with a Bose entertainment system and satellite television service, in the common living room for your pleasure, after a day of enjoying the Great North Woods Region. A gift shop within the lodge, offers our guests the ability to purchase gifts that will remind you of your time well spent, or a gift for someone special in your life. Shipping can also be arranged upon request. We can make special arrangements with those proprietor's in the area, who you may wish to utilize their special skills and talents. Many guests will want to enjoy the Androscoggin River, and can do so safely by securing the services of the two white water rafting outfitters. Guide service can be arranged as well, upon request. The Northern Forest Heritage Park offers Moose Tours during the summer months, originating in close-by Berlin, New Hampshire.
