Groupe Filatex, founded in 1979, is a leading renewable energy, real estate and free zones business based in Madagascar. At the core of our business strategy, in all the sectors in which we operate, is our desire to contribute positively to Madagascar's economic development, to improve the lives of the Malagasy people, attract greater investment to the island and, moreover, to Africa as a whole. When Abdoulrassoul Yavarhoussen founded Groupe Filatex in 1979, he launched the first Industrial Free Zone in the country, to meet the infrastructure needs of Madagascar's booming textile sector. Today, we are a fully functioning Industrial Free Zone Park Developer, operating more than 145,000m² worth of zones across one main site in the country, with more than 14,400m² of additional sites in development. Groupe Filatex's Free Zones now host a multitude of local and international businesses.
