GuateGuides

Our main goal is to lift the quality of tours, treks and excursions to an international level. What does this mean? We refuse to compete by just a low price. This means that maybe we don't have the lowest prices, but in return we (try to) deliver quality on all levels. What is the difference? We use certified guides where possible. If this isn't possible we use experienced guides with several years of experience. We're always looking for guides who love their work. If a guide loves their work, they love their country and are willing to do their best effort to make their customers happy. A good guide is always expanding their knowledge and isn't just a person that shows the way. When we find a new guide, we will train them in our ways and they really have to show us that they are up to our standards. Apart from being certified guides, Marvin and Martín are both certified instructors in first aid in survival situations. All our guides will be trained in these techniques. Good quality equipment. It is very difficult to find good quality camping equipment in Guatemala. For this reason we import equipment from the US or Europe. Maybe it isn't the highest quality available, but it is on level that is more than adequate for the trips we do. This way we still can keep our prices affordable. For example: On the top of any volcano it can be very cold. For this reason we have all-weather tents and sub-zero sleeping bags (20F/-7C). Good food. During the multi-day hikes we try to provide good and tasty food. We are always limited by the restrictions and possibilities of a destination. But we see it as a challenge to offer you something to eat on a level you wouldn't expect. Safety minded. We are constantly monitoring climate, volcanoes and news. It isn't impossible that something happens that has an influence on your trip. But we try to be ahead of problems so we won't be surprised by it. We will discuss the options with you, and a find a solution so your trip won't be ruined.
