It accompanied the beginnings of aviation and grew with the city and its region. Property of the State of Geneva, Genève Aéroport is an autonomous public institution since 1994. The company has more than 1,000 employees and is the flagship of a site hosting some 200 other companies. Overall, the airport platform has thus nearly 11,000 employees. In 2018, more than 17 million passengers used Genève Aéroport's infrastructure. Geneva and its region are today connected to 148 destinations operated by 60 airlines. Genève Aéroport generates aeronautical revenues and non-aeronautical revenues that enable it to maintain its infrastructure and finance its investments each year. In 2017, Genève Aéroport achieved a net profit of CHF 78.9 million and generated an economic added value of more than 4 billion and more than 33,000 jobs.
