Greenwood High School
The Greenwood Community School Corporation offers comprehensive educational curricula with special activities and programs that provide academic enrichment and instructional support for students in grades K through 12. Greenwood offers excellent opportunities for students to participate in athletics, fine arts, performing arts, and publications. Our staff is committed to the philosophy that all students can learn. As our schools have reviewed their school improvement and analyzed results of the state ISTEP+ tests, we identified the areas of writing, mathematics, and reading skills as areas to target to facilitate increased achievement in our schools. Our professional development opportunities for our staff have focused on our needs in those areas. During 2007-2008, we will provide professional development for our staff in the areas of literacy, intervention, and differentiated instructional strategies. Beginning with Kindergarten in 2003, Grade 1 in 2004, Grade 2 in 2005, and Grade 3 in 2006, we created a new standards-based report card that helps parents understand their child's progress in relation to the state standards in mathematics and reading.
