HMI(Halifax Motors, Inc.) was created in 1997 by Chris and Jenna Fromal. Having started a quickly growing family, the Fromal's decided to escape the traffic and high cost-of-living in Baltimore/DC area, and move to the rural Roanoke Valley to be near family and raise their kids in the country. What once served as a blacksmith shop & even futher back historically, a brick yard; became the site of the now well-known premier Euro car shop, HMI! In 1997 we opened Halifax Motors with a small 1960's trailer converted to an office, with 5 cars for sale on a gravel lot. We have grown a bit since then, but our principles have always been the same: high quality, professional service that you'd expect to find in the bigger cities, with a small-town atmosphere. We treat everyone as we would expect to be treated--and with fair prices and service you trust to be right! Both Chris and Don (service manager) proudly boast ASE Master Tech certification, and our primary technicians are required to maintain as many ASE certifications as possible. Although we specialize in European and other import vehicles, we are able to service any vehicle , and we are a NC certified State safety inspection facility.
