Hamtramck Energy Services LLC (HES) is an independent subsidiary of Detroit Renewable Energy LLC that provides third-party expertise in managing and staffing of powerhouses and wastewater treatment facilities. HES provides management oversight and experienced staff; day-to-day operation/maintenance of boilers, chillers, compressors, wastewater treatment and auxiliary equipment; safe, reliable and efficient operation of equipment; cost reduction through the efficient use of manpower and outside contractors; and improved operating practices that reduce costs and improve reliability. Detroit Renewable Energy is a consortium of renewable-energy generation and distribution companies committed to providing the City of Detroit with safe, reliable, and cost-effective solutions for clean energy and waste disposal. In addition to HES, these independent subsidiaries include Detroit Thermal, which powers the City of Detroit's downtown steam loop, and Detroit Renewable Power, which operates Detroit's renewable energy-from-waste facility, providing steam to Detroit Thermal and electric power to the local grid.
