Hanson Regan gets that recruitment is a specialist skill. We need to recruit the most talented and skilled recruiters to work with our clients. It's vital for us to encourage and support our recruiters to develop their skills and retain them through their career development. So, I'm the Talent Manager for Hanson Regan and this is why I exist: 1. We make sure we have the right person doing the right job. It's common for recruitment roles to be "360" (translation: doing everything all of the time). We get that the role of the recruiter can vary from account manager, to delivery consultant, to recruiter and thus I need to find the right skillset for the business. My job is to ensure that the role my directors have given me is filled by someone who actually has the relevant skillset, and is not simply "a recruiter". 2. We will make fewer hiring mistakes. he quality of an organisation is, quite simply, the quality of staff it has. To ensure we make the best hires - we have a detailed recruitment process, which includes a variety of techniques. By completing a comprehensive interview process we ensure we hire the right people and equally as important - our applicants are able to make an informed decision that we are the right organisation for them! 3. We understand our staff better. Employee assessments give great insights about our team. This helps in planning development as we understand every individual's needs, career aspirations and strengths and weaknesses. So, we all get the cliché that there is no I in Team. We love getting to know people. For a team of our size, personalities and what you do outside of works really counts. We love knowing what makes our team tick. One of our team was really keen to "see the world" - we made that happen through client meetings and trips abroad. 4. It's all about retention. A recruiters' life span can be pretty short. Burnout, not hitting target and being "let go", joining the wrong environment - all of this leads to an industry littered with pretty bad staff retention stats. Our focus is on employee retention programs and strategies to develop and engage staff - therefore keeping quality people.
