Harte Peat

Harte Peat Ltd was founded by Tommy and Kay O'Harte in 1987 to provide quality casing soil for the mushroom growing industry. It has remained a family run business with their sons Aidan and Sean now involved in the running of the business. Harte Peat own and operate a number of peat bogs in Ireland. The company manages its peat extraction processes in line with strict environmental and industry best practise directives. Harte Peat has been awarded the prestigious ISO 9002 registration for its Quality System. They are also Bord Bia approved. With a fully integrated automated production facility, Harte Peat has control over the entire process from the raw material stage to the bagging and packing of the final product.
