Haven Behavioral Health Institute

Haven Behavioral Health Institute offers creative arts, expressive therapies, and other behavioral health education and treatment services. Expressive therapy helps patients by providing a safe, supportive, and creative ways to express themselves to help ease transition, confusion, depression, fear, and emotional/physical pain. Haven's Expressive Therapy services may be integrated into group services or as a part of a comprehensive individual treatment plan. Art therapy can become specific a treatment plan to improve psychological health (including self-expression, emotional control, appropriate behavior, and social integration); cognitive abilities; and sensory motor functions. In addition to the psychological and medical benefits of art therapy, residents can also improve their interpersonal and social skills, communication, and cooperation, especially within group therapy. Haven emphasizes a comprehensive treatment plan based on the patient's medical conditions, medication regimen, and psychosocial and biological factors that contribute to the emotional and behavioral well-being of the patient.
