Hawaii Forest & Trail
Hawaii Forest & Trail is committed to supporting local communities and the environment. Through the e hoomaluo program, we partner with local conservation- and education-based non-profit organizations to conduct special tours. These special, limited engagement experiences are each specially created and crafted to benefit both the natural and cultural resources of Hawaii Island, and to be relevant to the partner non-profit organization. Examples of some tour experiences include visiting a rainforest wildlife refuge with museum research staff; planting endangered native trees in a forest preserve; and tracing the eruptive features of a volcano on an extended hike through private property. As with every Hawaii Forest & Trail guided nature adventure, everything is included, from the meals and transportation, to access fees and gear. Additionally, proceeds of these trips benefit the non-profit partner organization. It's just one of the ways we support the communities we live and work in, and the areas we visit.
