The Haymarket Foundation
The Haymarket Foundation Ltd. is a secular, charitable organisation established in 1974 to provide basic healthcare to Sydney's homeless. The Haymarket Foundation is a Public Company Limited by Guarantee and is registered with both the Australian Securities and Investments Commission (ASIC) and the Australian Charities and Not for Profits Commission (ACNC). The Foundation is accredited by the Australian Council on Healthcare Standards (ACHS) and governed by a Board of Management, which operates in accordance with the objectives outlined in its constitution. The Haymarket Foundation is funded primarily by Commonwealth and State Governments, complimented by donations from passionate members of the community. We exist to provide opportunities to people who have been marginalised by society. We understand that the people we work with come from a background of complex trauma, and we use this understanding to advocate and deliver multidisciplinary services that are inclusive, safe, and offer freedom of choice. The Foundation provides a safe place for people in crisis, supports people transitioning into long-term accommodation, and provides a range of supportive environments throughout each individual's journey. We believe that all people are equal, and we will provide as many chances as are needed to support someone on their journey to independence, despite the professional challenges this may create.
