Within a short space of time the company developed into one of the leading bending specialists, with a workforce of 40. In September 1999, Hans Byland sold the company to HAFRA Holding AG ('HAFRA' for Hafner and Frauenknecht). The name change to HBB Holding AG coincided in 2005 with the company's flotation on the OTC market of the Berne Exchange.
