We use only the finest quality materials and offer a personal, tailor-made service to guide you through what can be a difficult decision in choosing a Memorial, we will help you through this sensitive process to make sure you get what you want while conforming to the various Cemetery rules and regulations, our aim is to make this as painless as possible helping you and your loved ones in creating a fitting tribute that will be treasured for many years to come. As well as a complete new Memorial service we renovate and restore existing Memorials and also carry out added inscriptions. All work undertaken complies with NAMM regulations. We can produce bespoke headstones in a range of different materials. A granite headstone is popular because it can be in a variety of different colours and is very long-lasting. These headstones are also less expensive than others because granite is widely available. Headstones can also be of white marble which is a bright material but should not be used in damp areas because of its' fragility. Portland is a type of limestone and is grey: it hardens and discolours over time giving it a worn and weathered appearance.Bronze headstones are increasingly popular because of their resilience. They darken over time but need very little maintenance. Other materials include sandstone, slate, cast iron, and even wood, although the latter will probably not last much more than 50 years. Cemeteries in the UK have different rules. Some will only allow headstones of a certain size, so may only accept small headstones, while others prohibit certain materials. The rules for a cemetery in Alloa may be very different from one in, say, Glasgow. The same thing applies to churchyards, which will have their own rules too. We can produce bespoke children's headstones as required. Children's headstones are often small and may feature something like their favourite toy. You should note that a headstone will probably not be permitted to be installed until at least six months after a burial because one needs to allow time for the soil to settle. However, some cemeteries may provide a concrete strip in order to allow for installation earlier.
