Hebrew Public

Hebrew Public seeks to support our schools in implementing the essential elements of our school design. Key services include: Planning Group Assistance: Community engagement professionals help planning teams learn about our Essential Elements of school design, enlist potential allies, develop outreach plans to attract interested families and assist groups in understanding the charter school planning process. Planning groups are invited to submit grant requests to support their planning activities, which will then lead to the submission of a charter application. Grants are awarded on a quarterly basis. Proactive Embedded Professional Development: Our Directors of Educational Services scaffold resources to grow the capacity of planning groups and school leaders. Hebrew Public provides comprehensive professional development in order to assist schools in building the capacities to implement our model. We provide facilitation and guidance through all phases of the school development process, from helping to orient new teachers and the creation of a school culture to assisting in leadership training for lead teachers. Participation in the National Hebrew Language Charter School Network: Affiliated schools and funded planning groups are invited to participate in our networking activities. These activities include an annual institute focused on the Hebrew charter school movement and summer development sessions where teachers are trained in the proficiency approach and the workshop model. School Leadership Training: Through direct coaching, school-based Directors of Curriculum and Instruction are guided in how to support teachers in realizing the essential elements of our school design. Hebrew Public's Grant Program: Hebrew Public requests proposals for grants to support all stages of school development. Grant categories include development grants, planning and startup grants, as well as a vanguard school award to support excellent practice as schools mature.
