Henry County Board Of Commissioners
The Henry County Sheriff operates under the following divisions: Administration Division, Field Operations Division, and the Jail Division. The Administration Division is comprised of the Chief Deputy, Administrative Secretaries, Telecommunications and Internal Affairs. Responsibilities of the administrative division is responsible for the payroll, billing, doctors bills for inmates, bonds, purchase orders, submitting budget, and many other task associated with the Henry County Sheriff&s;s Office. The Field Operations Division is formed by the civil section, court section, public relations unit, transport section, warrant/fugitive unit, and the training section. The field operations division serves and maintains all warrants; serves arrest, probate, and emergency committal order; Provide security and maintain order for the Superior Court, State Court, Magistrate Court and Juvenile Court. Other duties include the transportation of prisoners, transportation of inmates for medical appointments, security measures for inmates while in hospital, serving civil papers, serving court orders, serving all subpoenas, Maintain security for sequestered jury, and enforce traffic and criminal laws. The Jail Division operates under 98 sworn officers and 2 civilian personnel. The jail holds a total bed capacity of 335. To reduce the security risk of transporting inmates outside the facility the jail has a full time medical staff on site. The inmate meals are provided by a contract with a food service company, ABL. Inmates are served a hot breakfast and lunch with sandwiches for dinner.
