High River Fire Department

The High River Gift of Music Society is a non-profit society bringing excellent classical music to the community of High River since 2009. The diversity of instrumentalists and vocalists-from marimba to piano, from the ancient Chinese pipa to guitar, from choirs to opera singers-opens the doors to the magical world of music. This is music that inspires, music that brings people together, and music that bridges cultures and eras. Visiting musicians offer outreach programs to school-aged youth in the area. Youth have an incredible opportunity to learn from and be inspired by some of the world's finest musicians. These unique interactions with musicians and youth give that very direct connection with the artist, the instruments, and the music. Committed to supporting and inspiring youth the series also offers subsidized concert ticket prices for all youth under the age of 18. These concerts are a celebration of music and community. The combination of an enthusiastic and welcoming audience, generous volunteers, and musicians who communicate their music with passion makes for a magical experience. Since January 2013, I must have attended at least 50 concerts of classical music in North America and Europe.
