The Hive

At the Hive, we believe that 'Everyone is a Climber.' You are never too old or too young to start climbing. Remember when your mother told you 'Get Down Off That!' Well here at the Hive, we encourage you to climb the walls! Remember when you first felt that sensation of being just a little bit too high off the ground? Perhaps it was in a tree at the park, or the rocks at the seashore. You either climbed onwards or came down. At the Hive we offer you the environment to explore this threshold at your own pace and with the support of like-minded individuals. We can help you climb higher, and we can help you just get off the ground! The Hive is Vancouver's only Bouldering Gym. It is the response to a great need seen within Vancouver: the need for a climbing space that supports the vibrant climbing community in the lower mainland. The Hive is also a response to the longstanding need for a climbing gym dedicated to the fantastic pursuit of bouldering; arguably, both the best way to learn and to advance in climbing at any level right here in our bouldering gym. The Hive is more than just a Bouldering Gym. It is a community space. It is a social scene. It is a community of climbers, sharing stories and successes, supporting each other and celebrating climbing. The Hive is owned and operated by climbers; we love climbing, and we want to share our passion with everyone. We understand the importance of ample change rooms, training and warmup areas, top-outs and high lip-tops, a kids room and birthday party area. These, and other features including social events, competitions, musical nights, film screenings, and community arts festivals will make the Hive your climbing community.
