We are an independent and family owned business based in the town centre of Trowbridge, Wiltshire's County Town. hjKnee Department Store is the oldest department store in the West Country and has a loyal customer base from Wiltshire, Somerset, Gloucestershire and Dorset. Established in 1879 by my Great, Great Grandfather - Mr Henry John Knee, we have been involved in many aspects of local business from refitting boats in the Bristol docks to rebuilding piers (including the Brighton pier and Penarth pier), but for well over a hundred years the backbone of our success has been our thriving retail businesses which run from our two department stores, in Trowbridge and Malmesbury, as well as our Electrical Superstore, also in Trowbridge.
