Holy Ghost Society

The Holy Ghost Society Inc of East Taunton was founded in August of 1934 and incorporated March 2, 1936. We were organized for the purpose of providing the community with religious and cultural interests for the City of Taunton and vicinity. We are a non-profit organization, exempt under both Section 501(c)(7) of the U.S. Internal Revenue Code and Chapter 180 of Massachusetts General Laws. Our founders established this society to: conduct religious services, perform and encourage social and civic activities, do works of charity, establish and maintain a place of meeting, and most importantly hold a Festa do Divino Espirito Santo (Feast of the Holy Spirit) on the second Sunday of July, and to give a free dinner in honor of the Divino Espirito Santo (Divine Holy Spirit) on that day.
