Richard Honquest founded Honquest Furniture for Living in a former general store in Addison, Illinois in 1960. In 1976, we opened the first showroom in the renovated Ice House Mall in Barrington. Nationally recognized as an innovator in merchandising, the showroom was frequently visited by groups of Japanese retailers seeking to modernize their practices. Our present location was built in 1984 and further expanded in 1987 and again in 1993. Today we offer one of the largest and most complete collections of home furnishings and services under one roof anywhere in the world, 60,000 square feet showcasing beautiful furnishings in completely accessorized room settings. Exciting events such as our annual Truckload Sales, Oriental Rug Tent Sales, Dutch Auction and holiday seminars entice our many friends to make shopping at Honquest a truly memorable experience.
