Ara Ambigua Lodge
At Ara Ambigua we are committed to the best practices for sustainable living. Within our staff, we have a committee that is dedicated to insuring that we do everything to the highest standard possible. Here are just a few examples of what we do: All of the paper that is used at the lodge is reused or donated to local artisans for their craft. Our organic waste is divided into groups. One part is made into organic fertilizer another part is used to feed the frogs in our frog pond and the rest is sent to a local pig farmer to feed his pigs. We are in the process of getting the Bandera Azul (Blue Flag) certification for private nature reserves. We offer talks at local schools to teach the children about conservation and protecting the environment. We train our staff in environmentally friendly practices. We hire only local staff. Our souvenir shop sells only arts and crafts that are made by local artisans. We signed the code of conduct with PANIAMOR, committing to protect and report any abuse of boys, girls or adolescents. We don't use chemicals at our lodge. In our gardens, laundry and cleaning we use only biodegradable products. We use almost no disposable products, we make a big effort to use only biodegradable products, and even the trash bags we use are biodegradable. As a company, we comply with all of the requirements that are dictated by the law. We pay legal wages, social security, we have all the necessary insurance policies and more. The analysis of the quality of the water that comes from our spring certifies that the water that is consumed at the lodge is of very high quality.
