Houston Christian High School
Houston Christian High School was founded in January 1997 by pastors from several major evangelical churches in Houston with a shared vision to establish an interdenominational college preparatory high school dedicated to the highest academic standards, where leadership is cultivated and lives are enriched through spiritual formation. In August of 1998, HCHS opened its doors for the first school year at the former Northwest Academy campus with 207 students. Within two years, a forty-five acre tract of land was acquired on the West Sam Houston Parkway where construction began for a move to the new campus in the fall of 2000. Since this time, Houston Christian has continued to grow and expand both campus facilities and programs offered to the greater Houston community. Throughout these years, Houston Christian has won state championship titles and numerous individual championship titles in academic, arts and athletic competition. Today, Houston Christian High School delivers an exemplary college preparatory program in state-of-the-art facilities. With around 500 students, a dynamic faculty and strong leadership among trustees, Houston Christian High School is becoming the school of choice for families seeking a college preparatory experience in a distinctly Christian environment characterized by rigorous academics and tremendous co-curricular programs.
