ICT was founded in London in 1981, but the cotton trading business of the group originated in the early 60's, when the founder started the business as cotton selling agent in the Italian market. Today, after more than 40 years, ICT is still the leader in raw cotton sales in Italy, and business has extended with success to the most important world markets. The strategy of ICT is to represent a reliable partner for global service to the Client, from the sale of raw material at competitive prices, to grant personalized advice and complete assistance to the high quality oriented Clientele. For this reason, ICT is typically the preferred supplier of those Clients who care for their competitive advantages not merely in price, but in high quality, flexibility and customisation of their products. To achieve such goal, ICT in 1986 was amongst the first international cotton merchants to be equipped with computerized instruments for the classification of cotton, that is, an HVI (High Volume Instrument) laboratory Spinlab 900 and 935, with which to test the cotton in order to standardize the characteristics of the prime fibre of each shipment. Today, the ICT Group has a very advanced laboratory, equipped with most modern instruments for the classification of cotton: Zellweger Uster HVI Spectrum, Zellweger Uster Afis, Lintronics FCT (Fiber Contamination Tester). Thanks to this technology, combined with a network of highly qualified operators in various purchasing markets, ICT is providing a capillary quality control on all treated cotton. Furthermore, since the year 2000, ICT has been the first and unique international merchant who makes available to its own Clients and Agents a really interactive web site, suitable to give commercial services (ON LINE QUOTES) and quality control services (QUALITY SERVICE). In the section ON LINE QUOTES, Clients and Agents find all cotton offers updated to the actual time for every destination and the HVI tables of every offered lot, and they can send their inquiries directly to ICT. In the section QUALITY SERVICE, the Clients can consult the qualitative tables of every lot delivered, or proposed for their approval before delivery.
