IGM aims to bring greater awareness on how professional geologists can enhance areas of your business, and the living environment and lives of the public-at-large. Such areas are associated with mining, groundwater, natural hazards, fossils, gemstones and semi-precious stones, and precious metals, among many others. IGM work closely with the related Government bodies, and is closely linked to Minerals and Geoscience Department, of which I am also the Director-General, the Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment, and the Ministry of Energy, Green Technology and Water. The IGM Outreach Program will reach out across Malaysia, from the Peninsula to Sabah and Sarawak. IGM also aims to work closely with professionals such as engineers, architects, technical and financial consultants and institutions in development projects. The IGM Outreach Program has been launched to bring geology to the public; with emphasis on the theme "Geology Made Easy". For this bold initiative, I am proud to introduce "NOE - No Ordinary Events", our partner in this program for 2012-2013, working in close collaboration with IGM.
