Ian Irvine Engineering is a family-run marine and general engineering business based the island of Whalsay, in the Shetland Islands. We provide a wide range of services to the marine, agricultural and civil engineering sectors. Our work includes supply, installation, maintenance and repair of engines and equipment for leisure and working vessels. We design and fabricate a very wide range of items, both to our own and supplied designs, with examples being small boat fuel tanks, lobster creels and specialist fishing boat gear. Our experience in civil work includes manufacture and fitting of structural steelwork, handrails, staircases, ladders, gates, cattle-grids and fittings in aluminium and steel. We sell and maintain marine engines, including Mariner & Tohatsu outboard engines and Nanni & Mercruiser inboard engines. We can even help you source and purchase your next pleasure or work boat. We take on work from all throughout Shetland, for clients ranging from private small-boat owners to large salmon farming groups and the Shetland Islands Council. If you have a job that needs doing and it involves engines, nuts and bolts or welding, we can do it!
