The Internet infrastructures making all connectivity possible consist of multiple digital platforms, tracking systems and other largely invisible ways of sourcing and aggregating data, as well as advanced algorithms and visualisation techniques. In a world of mobile apps and search engines, the DNS may be much less visible to end users than it was 30 years ago but it still underpins the Internet in critical ways.
