Il Piccolo is a friendly restaurant, well known for authentic Italian cuisine in a relaxed setting, tucked away behind Corbridge's Hill Street. Family-owned and run, by Sicilian-born chef Emanuele Orto and his wife Pam, the restaurant serves great tasting Italian food and wines. The seasonal a la carte menus are influenced by Emanuele's Sicilian heritage, with influences from the North African to the Norman. Sicily's cuisine is a mixture of cultures and is rich in local produce: olives, oranges, lemons, herbs, almonds, aubergines, tomatoes, pistachios, grapes, fish and seafood. Emanuele has his own unique style of cooking and serves up wonderfully tasty dishes, using the best local produce and imported Italian delicacies.
