India Power
India Power is also involved in wind power generation presently with an installed capacity of about 100 MW in the States of Karnataka, Gujrat & Rajasthan. In the distribution wing, India Power has been supplying electricity for public and private purpose in Asansol - Raniganj belt of West Bengal in and around its licensed area spanning 618 sq.km. as one of the oldest licensees in the country. As a power utility company India Power has also the thermal generation set-up of around 12 MW at a place named Dishergarh in the Burdwan District of West Bengal. The total connected load in the area is around 250 MVA. In West Bengal the Company is powering industrial resurgence in West Bengal which includes collieries, railways, WBSEDCL, mini steel plant, sponge iron plan, cement plant, refractory works, glass works, hospital, nursing homes, government offices, engineering industries and townships. India Power is also now exploring its activities in various generation and distribution power projects outside West Bengal mainly in Jharkhand, Gujarat, M.P., Karnataka & Uttarakhand. The Company has also started execution of 2 x 270 MW Thermal Power Project at Raghunathpur, Purulia District of West Bengal. The Company has its offices and plants at Asansol, Kolkata, Haldia and Delhi.
