Innirvik Support Services (2003) Ltd is a 100% Inuit owned company based in Iqaluit, Nunavut. Innirvik was created in 1997 and later merged with another translation business called Nunavut Tusaavut Inc. in 2003. Innirvik now specializes in simultaneous interpretation/video systems rental and sales, interpretation, translation and transcription services, board room rental, print shop services, and temporary staff placements. Staff of Innirvik consists of President/Owner (Rhoda Cunningham), Manager of Operations (Christina Stoney), Manager of Technical Services (George Metuq), Manager of Hansard Production (Kaittaasi Peter), Executive Assistant (Elaina Cooper), Translation Clerk (vacant), Senior Technician (Jeremiah Veevee), and 2 part-time Technicians (Joseph Holland and Jimmy Ipeelie). They are all from Nunavut. The clientele fluctuates between 300 - 500 and they range from the north to the rest of Canada and beyond. Electronic mailing makes this possible to provide translations from anywhere. Independent subcontractors are used for language services namely in translations, interpreting, and transcribing. Language services include the three official languages, Inuit, French and English. Equipment rental and sales provides for meetings, assemblies, conferences, workshops of any size from a portable system to large symposiums. Multi-channel systems makes it possible for multi-language functions to happen. A 10' x 6' projector screen can make for a comfortable event. Video and webcasting can also be incorporated into systems.
