The Electronic Evidence Standards Council (the Council) is a non profit organization established to identify, develop and share electronic evidence protocols, analytical tools and knowledge for use by law enforcement personnel, their industry partners, and the courts. Among other initiatives, the Council seeks to set out standards and guidelines for evidence gathering, analysis, and reporting in an environment of innumerable vendors, technologies, and investigative objectives. The Council is an open organization established and operated by active and operational digital forensic examiners, video analysts and cyber crime investigators working in the field.
