Intergas Central Asia

KazTransGas, JSC is the major gas supply company in the Republic of Kazakhstan representing the interests of the government on the domestic gas market and worldwide. In July 2018, pursuant to the Resolution of the Government of the Republic of Kazakhstan Intergas Central Asia, JSC was granted the status of the National Operator on Main Gas Pipelines Transmission. Thus, the primary objectives of the newly established National Operator are to provide for the interests of the government and other stakeholders while transmission of the commodity gas through the trunk gas pipelines to domestic and foreign markets. Further, the Company is called to ensure the innovative development of the main gas pipelines system and its integration into the global energy system, thus, enhancing the energy potential of the nation using diversified commodity gas flows. Currently, Intergas Central Asia is responsible for the transmission of natural gas to domestic consumers and international transit of natural gas across the territory of Kazakhstan through the main gas pipelines with the total length of 19 146.51 kilometres, including 6 667.97 kilometres of the third party's networks contracted to the Company for technical maintenance and servicing, and 2 242.25 km of off-take branch pipelines. Gas transportation is carried out by 25 line and 4 booster compressor stations equipped with 308 gas compressor plant units of various brands and models with a total installed capacity of 2,263,964 MW. On contractual basis, Intergas Central Asia also services and maintains CS-1 Bozoi with 5 gas compressor units (GCU) with a total capacity of 68.5 MW. The Company operates three underground gas storages ("UGS") where the biggest one (active storage capacity 4,000,000 thousand cub.m), Bozoi UGS, is located in Aktobe region. The others are Poltoratskoye UGS (active storage capacity 350,000 thousand cub.m) located in the Turkistan region and Akyrtobe UGS (active storage capacity 300,000 thousand cub.m) in Zhambyl region.
