I bought it on GoDaddy auctions in 2013 for a 'new project' I was planning to start (you can read more about buying aged domains for SEO if you like). Armed only with the domain and (what I thought was) a catchy slogan ("ranking online since '99"), the site sat idle for a while before I wrote my first post, which was shortly followed by my second post. Not really having a particular direction, I decided to use the site to test a few 301 redirect tricks (short version: Domain Authority is really easy to boost). I also grabbed some unique content for the site using a little archive.org technique (thanks Moz)and backdated posts. To top it all off, I employed another Wikipedia backlink hack to get a nice permalink to the site (again, using archive.org for material).
