Iodolab
IODOLAB is a private laboratory. It's role is to respond to the analysis needs of the veterinary sector. Created in December 2003, IODOLAB relocated in June 2007 to the campus of the National Veterinary School of Lyon to optimize the set up of our equipment and to enhance professional contact and exchange. Our laboratory, specialized in biochemistry, performs trace elements, mineral and vitamin analysis in several matrices (plasma, serum, urine, milk) principally for production animals (several methods have been validated in these species). In this way we are able to provide Early Health Indicators of herd health to veterinary practitioners. Our principal development program is based upon, although not entirely, the following analyses : inorganic iodine in blood, milk and urine, glutathione peroxidase, erythrocitic enzyme for selenium status marker, electrolytes in urine to investigate acid-base balance, inflammation markers such as haptoglobin and SAA, and vitamins: A, E, 25OHD3, B12, biotin, b-carotene and most recently antioxidant markers. Other methods of analysis can be developed and validated on customer request. On January 1st 2017, IODOLAB was acquired by BIMEDA, an Irish family group, a major player in the veterinary market, with operations in more than 75 countries, with close to 1,000 employees, and in France since January 2014. Through this acquisition, BIMEDA wants to increase the range of analyzes in order to contribute to the good development of the veterinary world. The nutritional and metabolic management, individual or collective, of the animals, is not only complementary, but becomes essential for the valorization of veterinary know-how.
