Irkutsk Oil
Irkutsk Oil Company held a quarterly safety forum with representatives from contractors. The participants discussed innovations in the Labor Code of the Russian Federation and other regulatory documents in the field of occupational safety. Particularly, the forum participants focused on discussing the importance of reviewing and optimizing the system of occupational safety management. At INK and its subsidiaries, such a system already takes into account all requirements, but with the changes that have taken place, some issues are also being updated. In addition, uniform standards for free issue of personal protective equipment will begin to operate in Russia in September 2023. Starting in September 2022, employers must organize training on the use of personal protective equipment. Since September 2022, a new procedure for training employees in occupational safety will be enacted, including training in first aid as one of the mandatory requirements. The number of hours for practical training has been increased, and all workers at operating facilities must be able to provide first aid. Another topic for discussion were the rules of conduct when encountering wild animals - in the north of the region the cases of bears, wolves, and foxes coming in close contact with people are not uncommon. Separately, the forum discussed one of the innovations in the Labor Code of the Russian Federation relating to the procedure for tracking and review of micro-injuries suffered by workers. Irkutsk Oil Company has already issued an order on changes in the procedure for investigating such accidents, which will also apply to contractors. Irkutsk Oil Company (INK) is one of the largest independent producers of hydrocarbons in Russia. The company was established in 2000 and is engaged in prospecting, exploration and development of 52 license blocks in Irkutsk region, Krasnoyarsk region and the Republic of Sakha (Yakutia).
